Eight Fold Path of Right Politics
-
Right Understanding/Right View
Right understanding or view is to see things “as it is” with all its background without any personal likes and dislikes. It is the foundation for developing the proper sense of values. When wrong views prevail we will operate with a perverted sense of values: we will fling ourselves into the blind pursuit of wealth, power, and possessions; we will be obsessed by the urge to conquer and dominate. Right understanding brings possibly right solution to the problems and create harmony for the people.
2. Right Intention/Attitude.
This is an unwavering commitment to a non-injurious way of life. It means addressing every aspect of greed, aggression and delusion among the stake holders of the organisation and general public to ensure a fundamental change of action and results.
3. Right Mindfulness.
Mindfulness implies the present and past. It is the capacity to look at the present, look at the conditions leading up to the present and make clear judgements in accordance with the spirit and spontaneity. Mindfulness belongs to the eightfold path just as the arm belongs to the body. Mindfulness has the capacity to track circumstances, to see and follow what is unfolding and be mindful of consequences, effects and fruits of action. The practitioner develops the capacity to stay steady, clear and calm in the present as well as see the relationship of past, present and future.
4. Right Speech
It is to speak, what is “true and useful” leading to right understanding. It is to speak honestly and fearlessly about the inner and the outer necessities to change harmful policies that always employ distorted and manipulative speech for selling purposes and intentions. Right speech includes an end to the slagging off of thoughtful critics and competitors, as well as end to putting down the poor and the marginalised.
5. Right Livelihood
Any livelihood causing harm and suffering to people, animals or environment is harmful. Right livelihood embodies the principle that each person should follow an honest occupation, which fully respects other people and the natural world. It means being responsible for the consequences of our actions and taking only a fair share of the earth's resources. Authentic mindfulness generates inner and outer change touching on the conscience of the individual and the collective with the willingness to work with integrity regardless of the personal cost.
6.Right Team
When right people come together for a common goal it becomes a movement and everything fall in place and the success been achieved. They communicate well with each other, They focus on goals and results, Everyone contributes their fair share, They offer each other support, they learn from each other and they feel that they are united and powerful. This create confidence in motion and makes things easier to approach and get it done on time.
7.Right Effort/Action/Policy
Right effort implies a creative energy to develop and maintain what is beneficial and to overcome and abandon all what obstructs a noble way of life. Deep ethics govern action to show a real care for the people. Ethics ensure a change of use of chemicals and other substances used in products and action that harm people. Right action is a constructive engagement with life not a destructive one. Respect takes priority over personal gain. Right Action brings an end to the variety of corrupt practices, avoidance of paying taxes, money laundering, the obese lifestyles of the stake holders and exploitation of the trust of people and suppression of information.
8. Right Cooperation/Enforcement.
In this vast inter connected web of life conflict makes everything scattered and fearful. Fear makes the disharmony and war between individuals, groups and nations. Right understanding brings the right cooperation for mutual benefit and development.
